Stressed cat after cattery stay?

Hi everyone, you may be familiar with my 10 month old cat Hamish, my friend posts him sometimes.. I was put in MN jail years ago but have decided to change my name and make a comeback lol. Also apologies in advance if my questions are dumb, he's my first cat.
Anyways the actual point of this thread..
Hamish has just returned from an eight night stay at a cattery. Whilst he was there he was very subdued, he hid a lot and only ate half of his expected food. Since coming home he has been more bitey towards us and seems really pissed off but at the same time he cries when we leave the room. Is my cat broken? What can I do to help him feel comfortable again

My cat did this the one time I put her in a cattery. I just let her be and got feliway and extra treats and cooked chicken and that helped her. He’s probably wondering why did you go away put me somewhere I don’t know with people I don’t know and now you’re back?! I didn’t expect you to return.

Gorgeous cat. Let him be a bit bitey for a short time or just say no to the biting. He’s not broken. Either let him come to you or play, stroke, fuss him.

Don’t worry, he’s not broken. He’s just pissed off and insecure right now. I’ve had to put my beloved girl into a cattery a fair few times in the last years and every single time she comes home and is a bit weird. Mostly vocalising if I leave the room plus extremely clingy.

He will settle in a few days.
