Not sure

My cat only goes over the fence to take shade under the neigbours tree, never wanders to far from the house.
The other day she went to the neigbours garden and within a minute I heard cats fighting sounded so bad and then a bang against the fence.

I looked over the fence and she looked shook up with a bit of fur sticking out by her cheek.
She wouldnt come back and just laid where she was.

After 1hr she came back I saw a tiny bit of blood on her check but didnt see anything else ( although it was hard to see as she doesn't like it)

But i also saw a small mark on her nose so thought it was from that so I just quickly wiped the area with a damp clean cloth all good.

Tonight I noticed an indentation on her cheek and pinkish mucas on it
On looking closer she has a cut on the cheek which from what i could see looks to be roundish and a bit deep.

She is already booked in at the vets for her 6 montly health check on Saturday but im not sure i should leave it untill then just incase it gets infected. I've cleaned as much as she would let me.

What would you do clean it daily and see how it goes or try and get her seen today just in case ?

I think normally I would take her asap but I need to be at home today ( weds) for a delivery of tiles that were due yesterday so a bit stuck as not sure what time they will arrive.
Maybe tomorrow eve or weds ?
But I feel bad leaving it.

Keep her inside, keep it clean as best you can and mention it to the vet when you go. I wouldn't go any earlier.

Said after trying to get appt today
Can a vet at the very least look at pictures in betwen their consults today & advise if this warrants out of hours vist tonight due to risk of infection or abscess OR wait and try to get a slot in the morning
No response yet !

Was thinking that but there's a risk of not getting a slot in the morning.

But ive not long emailed them ( just done a updated post) so see if they respond never know they may say come in in the morning but may say OOHrs as they want the money lol

Good evening,
Thank you for sending the pictures over.
As long as the abscess isn't actively bleeding and Ginge seems fine otherwise ( bright, eating and drinking okay) he should be absolutely fine to wait until tomorrow for an appointment with one of the vets.

In the meantime, you could try to clean the area with some salt water.

I didnt say it was abscess just risk of and hes a she 😀

To be fair to the vet who answered your email, they've squeezed in checking the photo and replying to you between other appointments - which knowing most vets they are already running late for. Or have done this after finishing work for the day. So a slip of him/her isn't so bad, especially considering that Ginge is a pretty neutral name & you get many more male ginger cats than female.

So seen vet she said at first it would have not shown much but it can take a day or so to form into a abscess then you see the wetness/ oozing that's why i noticed it more the next day.
No infection or temperature & eating well so just to cover her got 5 day course of antibiotics so fingers crossed that will ward off anything.
She had her 6 monthly check as well so she canceled this Saturday's appt which frees up my and their time, better still i didnt have to pay for consultaion as its in the heath plan.
