Farewell to Elvis

I said farewell to my lovely tuxedo boy Elvis yesterday and just wanted to post to remember him and share his sweet face.

He was 19 years old, suffering from hyperthyroidism and kidney disease, a bit arthritic and for the last couple of months the signs of dementia had set in so in the interests of quality of life it was time to make that call.

i only had him for a year, after he moved himself into my front garden from the original owners down the road (they’d got a dog, he basically decided to move out and so I brought him in with his owners blessing). I like to think he spent the last year of his life in peace and comfort, and knew that he was loved. 💔

Very sorry to hear that, he looks an absolutely lovely boy. Slightly outraged that his previous owners moved a dog in with an 18 year old cat though.
19 is a great age for a cat and it was really good of you to look after him for his last year.
You have my sympathy 💐

What a beautiful boy and I'm so sorry for your loss. I cannot understand the mentality of peoole getting a new pet and not caring about the impact on the older one. He was 18! Yes I DO judge, and harshly. But what a star you were OP in taking such a lovely boy in ❤ RIP Elvis Flowers

Elvis looks a lovely boy. I don't understand how his previous owners could not hywaited to get their dog after he had passed. I bet he had a lovely peaceful final year with you.
