Flea Watch

I have 2 short haired indoor/outdoor moggies - B & S.

In the past I have regularly flea treated them and I also comb them regulary. They have had fleas before when I haven't been on top of the treatment and not done it timely enough. When this has happend I've treated them, combed them regularly & treated carpet when necessary.

Last year I read how i t was unnecssary to flea treat cats all the time particularly over winter. So I haven't treated them since before Xmas & I've combed regularly and for all of 2026 we've had no fleas. Occassionally I will comb a flea off a cat, kill it, and that's that.

Curious I kept going without the treatement fully expecting the arrival of spring/summer to bring fleas & I would resume regular treatment.

We've had 2 heat waves just starting the third and still my boys have NO FLEAS.

Its extraordinary. I'm torn between wanting to treat them now and curious to see how far I can take this.

Yesterday I found one single flea on B. Its July!

Anyone else on flea watch?

I have four long / medium haired moggies who all go outside and catch prey.
The cats last got fleas in 2019. Can't understand it at all, prior to this we'd get fleas more or less every year which we'd then treat.
Saved a hell of a lot of money on flea treatment - no flea drugs bought at all for six years 😁

Mine are 6 and 13, go outdoors and have never once had fleas. I’ve also got a dog who comes to work with me as a dog walker and mixes with other dogs - he’s 8 and has also never had fleas.

I’ve never treated any of them. They do get wormed a few times a year as the cats hunt and the dog eats all sorts but only the stuff from Amazon.
