Kitten attacking feet

Hi. What age did your kitten stop attacking feet under the duvet or do they never grow out of this? I’d love to get my kitten out the bathroom where he has to sleep at night but really hate having my feet attacked and also my duvet shredded.

Ours is eight and will chase dd2 up the stairs batting at her feet, he gets a devil look in his eyes and stalks her slowly out of the sitting room waiting for to go up the stairs😁

The devil look! I used to see this, but it was too quick a change for me to react to, hence wounds and streaming blood 😆

He only does it to dd2, not me or dh, we just hear her shout and run up the stairs

My MIL cat never stopped this behaviour and she was basically shredded from the shins down..... He was quite a short tempered cat and would scratch and bite anyone who touched him....

Maybe 2 years 😂

Thankfully ours doesn't have his claws out when chasing her on the stairs, other times...

I would strongly advise getting another kitten while they're still young. They will play with each other and wear each other out, and it's really hard to introduce adult cats to new cats/kittens so it's better to make the decision fast.

Don’t stick just your feet out of the covers. Mine don’t go for toes when they can clearly see that they’re attached to a person, nor when they’re fully under the covers. It’s seeing a random foot that in their eyes doesn’t look like it’s connected to anything because the duvet is covering the rest of the leg that gets them thinking it’s a prey that must be killed.

Excuse me, but mine burrows under the duvet specifically to find my toes to bite.

The bitey little git.

I love him.

Do your feet look like this?

I have a special blanket-square to cover my lower legs. I get into bed, put the blanket-square on, and then wiggle my toes provocatively. The cat straddles my shins, biting at my toes, while her back legs try to disembowel my knee caps.

I imagine the cat is having genetic dreams of being a lion, biting the throat and disembowelling an unfortunate antelope in the Serengeti.

After a few minutes, the cat gives up, and jumps off the bed. I kick the blanket onto the floor, and then it's lights out, sweet dreams.

Good reminder to check tetanus status

This is why you should get two kittens. They play and hunt each other and not you!
