its been 30 degrees here everyday. I cannot get our old boy to come in??? He’s either basking on the trampoline or under a bush in the garden. I’m worried he’s going to get poorly! Is this normal?? He hasn’t done this in hot weather before he just seems to prefer being outside.

My cat, and the neighbour's cat, are in my garden resting in the shade. Both are about 3 years old so young, healthy cats.

My girl cat got incredibly offended yesterday when I tried to cool her down by putting her cat shampoo mousse on a wet cat brush and gave her a cooling clean.

She sulked for the entire evening :).

I might do a damp towel today but again she will hate me for it.

I am in the South East and it is really hot.

Ours enjoys a damp towel wipe a mist of water on his ears to help with cooling. Last night dh picked him up and dipped his feet in the bird bath as he was worried that he seemed lethargic. He loved it and happily stood in there. Ideally I'd keep him indoors with a fan on him but he gets distressed if he wants to be out. We have lots of cool spots in out garden and put water everywhere for the wildlife.

Extra wet food, im giving mine cat soup as well to keep him hydrated.

Surprisingly my cat has not objected to the wet towel treatment and is now resting on a corridor's wooden floor as it is a bit cooler inside than in the garden.
