Cooling mat

Thinking of getting my old boy a coolmat. Any recommendations or cats that actually use them?

Mine doesn't use the one I bought him. I use it instead.

I got one from amazon. It was for my dog originally but my cat uses it now 👍

My girl doesn’t use her; she prefers to lounge in the grass or under a chair. Cats are excellent at keeping themselves cool and comfortable. Brushing them also helps keep them cool.

I bought 2 for our tabby boy. He took one look at it, turned his nose up and sauntered off. I now use the large one in bed.

I bought one and none of our 6 cats went anywhere near it. I've now thrown it away because it seems a lot lighter than I remember so think the gel must have leaked out or evaporated

They all have access outside and I think most of them go hide in the little wooded area behind the house in hot weather. We do have an 18 YO who mostly stays in and started to look very hot during the last heatwave but I kept the curtains closed and put the fan on in the bedroom, which made the house bearable and she started to look more comfortable.

I bought one yesterday and have spent today trying to show her that it's nice and cool but she's having none of it!

Mine ignored it last year but is using it this year. I put some cat nip on it initially & now he'll sit on it for short periods

Ah, i just got mine to put his front legs on it. He didn't seem overly impressed.

Thank you everyone, he loves to sleep on gravel in the shade but has old bones so I’ll try a towel instead 😂

I had one. It was ignored, along with everything else that cat has ever been brought. 😂 I liked it though!

They are 3 for 2 in pets at home just £6 each! My girls refuse to sit on them! When I stand them on it they just run away, they usually live new things too!

I have been wondering the same thing. Presumably any animal could get heatstroke in certain conditions. The difficulty with cats is that they normally dont show it when they are in pain. Apparently cats only sweat through their paws.

Surprisingly Penelope has sat on hers.

My cats have completely ignored it so far, but I only got it a week ago so I live in hope.
