Heya

Just starting a thread for any hints and tips for kitten enrichment. We have a new adoptee in the crew, and he is a dexterous little bulldozer, our resident is a certified loaf she spends her time moving from cat tree to beds with an occasional chase of a plastic spring and just wants to be picked up like a baby.

Little man is sharp as a tack, likes to fetch with a paper straw, enjoys puzzles, opening cupboards and just throwing himself on anything, he is not a big height fan (yet) we have tunnels, cat wands, balls, and puzzles but he likes a proper task. Any tried and tested toys or ideas would be fab 😊

Cat tax: Lemmy, also known as Barry the bulldozer

He is adorable, no ideas on enrichment as I tried and failed with most of mine. They just weren’t interested!

Our boy likes little fabric mice from Pets at Home - they come in a pack of three and are kind of patchwork looking, very sweet. They have catnip in them and we tend to swap out a new one every month or so, and he enjoys carrying it around in his mouth. I rotate wand toys and ribbons with him, and he particularly likes the fabric tape measure too. He has a basket of toys in the kitchen and will go and get something if he wants us to play with him (and will play by himself too). Things on strings are kept in a drawer, and he will sit at the drawer if he wants those.

We use a puzzle feeder if he’s being especially pest-y and needs kept busy, but tbh at this time of year he likes being outside a lot (I know that’s not an option for a little kitten) so gets less indoor play than in colder weather.

We have recently discovered Micia loves playing with small super bouncy power balls 3cm. Delicate tap with a paw then chase them bouncing down the hall. Extra points for how many times you can get your slave to get them out from under furniture

Louie is a big fan of the little vials of eyedrops for contact lenses. Loves to bat them under the cooker then wail for someone to move it out. Our last girl loved a Covid test liquid thing for similar purposes.

There's lots of cat mental stimulation toys on amazon. Mine also loved the mouse game which I downloaded onto my tablet & enjoys watching cat tv on YouTube.
