Worries about post op kitten

Both kittens had the snip Monday and came home Monday afternoon.

Simon is fine - playing, being his usual mad self. His brother is a bit off. He’s eating and drinking and occasionally joining in with play fighting but he’s had a bad tummy . Am ringing vets first thing tomorrow to discuss but he’s has no fever or signs of infection. He’s been 3 times today - it’s gone from watery to a bit more firm but would you worry?

I’ve never had a cat not just bounce back after the op.

It’s normal for it to be watery but going more firm is a good sign. Might just be a reaction to the meds he’s had. Keep a close eye. I have many neutered cats of both sexes, they all take it differently. One of my girls clung on to the bottom step of the stairs with very dilated eyes for a couple of hours. But all have come through it fine in the end.

Thank you - first night of no mega poo incidents so that’s better! Hopefully he’s feeling a bit better x Poor Theo he’s always been a bit more delicate than his brother and he has a very sad little face like puss in boots

So cute!

If he’s still not right, take him back and push for someone to look at. Our useless vets missed infection post op and it cost us thousands. (They ended up capping the cost).

Just checking, have you taken the bandage off his leg? They don't need it on when they get home.

To echo the PP, cats react to the sedation and op differently. I had one kitten who was staggering around drunkenly and weeing everywhere for a few hours. Others who might as well have never had the op.
