Do we or don’t we….3rd cat

We have two cats - just turned 1 year.

around 2 weeks ago we realised there was what we thought was a stray. We opened the window and it came in and to put it simply has never left 😂 (well goes for a little wander and to go to toilet but that’s it)

we have advertised it on fb, done paper collar but no one has claimed it. It is neutered but not chipped.

its in a separate room to our other cats with external access so we are not forcing it to stay. We have started introducing them and few hisses but nothing too much. Our cats only doing the hissing this one is chilled as can be

I am just torn on what to do…..its unbelievably friendly and just seems so grateful for human company so don’t know whether to keep it or contact a rescue and getting it homed.

Risk is I have no idea how old it is (we think maybe about 5), if it has any existing health conditions that would be picked up if we took it for a vet health check.

rescues are full so in all likelihood we would offer to foster anyway until home found.

Sounds like the cat has made the decision for you :)

my vote is don’t

Here’s a great website that might help though https://icatcare.org/articles/multi-cat-households
