Anti scratch spray that works

Has anyone found an anti scratch spray for furniture that works?

My cats have a scratching post in almost every room and are usually good as gold. But then we bought new dining chairs and they are already destroying them. 😕

Has anyone found an anti scratch spray that works on fabric covered furniture?

Our boy is an absolute bugger for clooking the carpet. The only thing that deterred him was a bit of eucalyptus oil heavily diluted in a bottle with water and sprayed on the carpet - but he just moved to a different area! (We also have loads of scratching posts.) He initially wanted to clamber on the mantelpiece and knock things over when we adopted him and I soaked cotton balls in eucalyptus oil and put them in a vase up there, which totally stopped that.

Thank you, I’ll try that. I had heard lavender oil might do the trick so maybe I’ll do a combo!

We use the lavender Method in the kitchen (because it’s my favourite scent they do, not as a deterrent) and it definitely does not discourage our cat from leaping around the sides. But our lad is particularly naughty!
