We just got a new baby kitten! She’s 8 weeks, pretty boisterous so far, and we’re keeping her in just one bedroom at the moment. We have two older cats who tolerate one another but aren’t friendly, any tips on how to introduce them? We were going to do slowly slowly and keep the kitten seperate for a couple of days at least.

Also asking for any kitten tips in general as we’ve never had one before, always older cats!

Mm a newbie... Haven't you heard of dcat tax?

I've done this several times - just open the door to the room and they will peek in . My experience is that they are more likely to be scared by the kitten 😂 Kitten needs to become part of the usual routine.

No one will give you an answer until you’ve paid the DCat tax 😂

She's adorable! My tabby was a naughty little sausage when he was a baby. I think it was because he was an 'only child's so I fussed over him a lot. Then we got his little brother a year and a half later and he was suddenly very responsible.

I think keep her indoors for a bit and then supervise. If that's possible for the first couple of weeks she's out!

Kitten tips. When you feel ready let them out in the house to explore (eg up and down stairs, where kitchen is). They might do things like climb up the curtains. I’m assuming you’ve got things like scratch pads, bed. Some cats prefer to sleep on eg fleeces, blankets. When it comes to taking to vet for vaccinations most cats hate cat carriers, you might get lucky and have a cat that doesn’t mind them (basically they associate them with going to the vet). Try to get her used to being brushed.

If your other cat goes out, when your kitten is old enough to go out it may be a good idea to let them out together. Then the older one can show the younger around.

Keep your toilet seat down or you'll be fishing a wet kitten out. If your kitten and husband are both idiots it may happen more than once.
