Cat's got the runs.

She is an outdoor cat but has a litter tray as she's kept indoors over night.

This morning. One runny poo.

Normal day. Normal mood. Normal eating, etc.

This evening, a runny poo.

I have no idea whether she usually poos twice in 24 hours (as it's mainly outside). But I've never seen it runny before.

She's two years old, and found as a stray so will eat almost anything (so may well have eaten something that doesn't agree with her).

As she's so much her normal self, should I worry yet? I plan to take her to the vet on Monday if it continues tomorrow.

If she gets worse tomorrow, I'll take her to the out of hours vet, of course.

Just keep her in and give her plain food (chicken breast, rice, scrambled egg - no oil used, though). Hopefully that will help. It does sound like she's eaten something manky. Is she up to date with jabs and worming?

Jabs, yes up to date, worming, a bit behind.

I was tempted to give her worming treatment this morning (spot treatment to back of neck) but I didn't want to make her feel worse if she's feeling unwell. She hates the treatment and sulks for days.

If she’s ok in herself wait till Monday. If she is obviously poorly take her tomorrow. Mine had antibiotics and a pro kaolin paste that is great. Pro kaolin can get off the shelf

Pro kolin paste from Amazon

I'll give her worming treatment now, it's supposed to be every 3 months, but it's been around 5 months.

And we'll keep her inside tomorrow to keep an eye on her (I'll poach some chicken now for her breakfast).

Fingers crossed she's back to normal tomorrow. Poor kitten.

Thank you. I've got some in my basket ready to press 'buy' if needed.

And... she's back to normal.

No more bad poos.

We kept her inside for 24 hours to observe (she was furious, literally stamping around causing trouble all day). We fed her dry food, water, + poached chicken. She staunchly refused to poo all day.

Over night, one perfectly normal poo.

Normal service can resume.
