Help with spraying

Desperate for help! We have 2 cats so need a friendly solution to deter an outside cat from spraying. We have seen the culprit and he is spraying at our back door, in retaliation one of ours will spray on the other side! The smell is awful. We’ve used special cleaning sprays which works for a bit but looking for something that might deter the outside cat from coming up to our door?

Are yours neutered? Do you clean where the other cat sprays with an enzyme cleaner to remove the smell?

Yes and yes! It’s actually our girl cat that is doing the retaliatory spraying.

I would think until there is a way to stop the one outside, your girl will carry on. She's marking her territory from what she sees as a threat.
My last boy ruined 2 metal bins, as they were opposite his cat flap - he sprayed them a lot because he thought any cat coming in will know it's his house.

Do you know the owner of the other cat? If not, get a pic, put it on social media and hopefully the owner will listen to your plea of getting the cat neutered. Sadly despite your girls being neutered, the other cat won't care and will still want to mate. Chase the other cat off as much as possible, if needed get the garden hose out, water pistol, anything, lots of loud hissing from you. The more you do it, the more the other cat may think about bypassing your home because it's not worth the hassle.

We've one like it at the moment, my garden stinks of his pee and project fear, as I like to call it, is starting to work, he's coming around less.
