Furry, oily disaster!

My poor boy fell into a bucket of oil at lunchtime. There was oil all over the house and all over him. We made a very quick trip to the vets and several baths later he came home, very subdued. He’s even less impressed by the activated charcoal I’ve got to force down him. He’s only 8 months old. I needed a new duvet anyway.

Oh poor kitten , was it food grade oil ?
When I was a kid my cat ran though some engine oil that was in a sump tray

Engine oil. He smells like a garage now ☹️

Oh dear. Hope he wasn’t a white cat!

He’s black, so I didn’t realise at first glance. More a case of, “Why are you wet through? And why are there paw prints all over the kitchen floor?” And everywhere else. 😬

I've had to give many a cat a fairy liquid bath due to sleeping under leaky cars.. never fell in a bucket of oil though! I hope the poor wee one is okay

We had to smother ours with swavega once one vets recommendation he had a beautiful shiny coat after!

How did he manage that?!

My white cat used to come home with filthy black pads of paws and we wondered why? Turns out garage next door (attached to house) had a broken door with oil spillages and he’d been in there catching mice!

If your cat has been in a garage watch out for him drinking anti freeze as it’s very tempting for cats to drink, mine did from same garage (it had spilled) and had to do emergency vet visit. He was ok though.

There’s a bloke at the back of our house who likes tinkering with cars. He’s left an old, plastic oil drum next to some other rubbish. Looks my cat had landed on top of this and it’s cracked. There was a big splash mark next to it. It was gone this morning.
