Territorial and protective cat!

Interested to see if anyone else’s cat does this or just mine! He’s 13 a rescue tabby who I’ve had since 13 weeks old …. I’d have said originally he leaned more towards my ex husband and has always been on the territorial end …. Always the one fighting other cats (or dogs!)

5 years post divorce and he’s taking guarding me the kids to new levels! Someone mentioned it this weekend - we were stood talking and he appeared and manoeuvred himself inbetween us - clearly in a protective stance 🤣 if I moved he moved. I haven’t been to the bathroom alone post divorce and now he watches the kids shower!

I’ve noticed if we have visitors - especially around the kids - he will stop what he’s doing wherever it is and take up a position to watch and can usually been found asleep at night above my youngest or mines head

if a door is closed with me or the kids behind it he gets really upset!

if I have online meetings with men he appears and will lie across on my shoulders staring them down!

He wasn’t like this before but I can only assume he is taking his role of man of the house very seriously!

Must just be me then 😅
the little so so has took a chunk out of the chap who came to quote a new window today so doubt I’ll see him again!

My boy is also quite protective of his family unit but not to your boy's extent! He's let down by his passionate interest in men's feet which means that male visitors get intense scrutiny from the ankles down 😊
