Flies & wet cat food

Urgh, it's that time of year again when the wet cat food attracts the flies.
I wish he ate everything in one go but he doesn't.
What do you do? Do you have fly-proof feeders? What options are there?
Thank you.

Maybe only feed half a sachet/pouch of food at a time?? I have the same problem in the summer

It's just so grim isn't it?
He only has wet food. 3 or 4 pouches a day which I tie in with my working hours so one before I go to work at 0730, one at 1200 when I come home specifically to feed him, one at 1730 and another if he asks later on. He's 18 so I do whatever he wants!
I don't feel I can split his meals up more than I do already.
I don't have a yucky fly-filled house. It's just they appear and lay eggs in a second and I would love not to have this issue.

This makes me glad we have a greedy gorb who eats all his wet food immediately.

I can only suggest portioning it out in a smaller portion he will eat in one go?

Dry food during the day and wet food during the night. It helps.
