New kitten has hazy eyes and visible third eyelids

We’ve just adopted a 6 month old tortie kitten. She’s wonderful! Came from a happy home with her mother and siblings so the move will have been quite a shock. She’s doing well and eating/drinking and has become more confident in the last few days. She’s booked in for her kitten vaccinations next week and has always been an indoor cat.

However I’ve noticed that her eyes look a bit hazy/dry and her third eyelids are visible today. They do retract when very alert but not totally. I’ve contacted the vet today to make an appointment but just wondered if anyone had any ideas why? She has been hiding a lot this week is dusty areas - could that cause it? No gastric issues and good energy.

Trying not to worry 😬

Update for anyone who finds this thread: Sent photos to vet who thinks it’s Hawes syndrome. In absence of gastro symptoms we can’t be sure but will monitor over the next few days. Should resolve on its own if so. Obviously if new symptoms appear to let them know. I wonder actually if it’s eye irritation from sitting in dusty areas. Have had the hoover out this afternoon 😆

Bless her, hope she’s ok
