Could this cat wound really have been caused by fighting?

What type of injury is this? Our lovely cat came home on Sunday night injured. We immediately brought her to the emergency vetinary hospital. She was kept in overnight and got iv antibiotics and painkillers. They also gave her an anaesthetic to flush out the wound. They said it was from fighting. I can't imagine another cat causing this injury but maybe I'm wrong.

It's likely, yes. That's why our cats aren't allowed to roam.

That looks like bite marks to me
And I'm sure the vet would have no reason to tell you anything but the truth, as they see it.
I hope your poor cat makes a speedy, full recovery.

Yes, my cat had something similar on his tummy. I think it’s caused when they grab each other and kick with their back legs

I was thinking its a dog bite.
