Quick questions.

i have wonderful, large fluffy male kittens. Just over 5 months now (large grey and white is 4.5kg now)

What age did you get your kitten’s castrated? Does them being larger make a difference?

What age did you first let them outside? Showing some interest in going for the door when we let the dogs out but not too much.

We had ours neutered at 7 months old, the age he was when we acquired him. We kept him inside for about six weeks, so he was 8 or 9 months old when we first let him outside. I think its fairly standard to have them done at 5 or 6 months.

Well doing for doing the cat tax without any prompting!

I’d speak to the vet. Neutering is usually done around 4 months old before they reach sexual maturity so I’d get him done sooner rather than later and definitely before letting him out. Mine went out around 6 months.

The vet we used wouldn’t neuter before 5 months and 2kg. One of our cats was so tiny that we had to wait till she was nearly 6 months for her to be 2kg.

You might as well get it done as soon as the vet will allow. That will also make it less stressful if they try to sneak outside.

Don’t have to worry about being tiny! He is already large and definetly still growing. We are more curious to how big he will eventually get.

Thank you, hanging around here has taught me the correct manners. Plus my kittens are the most gorgeous kittens that have ever, ever existed so why wouldn’t I show them off. 😆

Beautiful great big floofy kittens! Could have some Maine Coon or Norwegian in the mix going by size & coat, which means they could end up VERY big! There are plenty of fully grown cats on here well under the weight your grey and white one is already.

As various others have said, anything from 4 months is good especially if they aren't very small. Then at least a few weeks after to let any residue of hormones settle down. Some won't let theirs out for a bit longer, but that's usually because they are a bit too small to look after themselves - not a problem you will have!

If practical, you may want to consider cat proofing your garden. Beautiful fluffy cats can be a bit of a target for theft so ideally you won't want them roaming too far. And of course roads can be so very dangerous these days.

I have mine done at 4-5 months. So I'd book him in now.
I usually start letting them out at about 6 months.
