Hi, please see photo does this look normal? Have sent photo to vet but they won't get back to me until they open tomorrow. She was recently neutered and has been fine.

Is it vomit or faeces?? Could be shes eaten something and its irritated her stomach/ bowels??

DrAmanitaPhalloides · 26/03/2026 20:18

We think its faeces but no one saw her do it. DD is with her now and they sleep in same room and will keep an eye on her. Don't know how worried to be.

@DrAmanitaPhalloides see how she is overnight and contact the vet in the morning? Any worries they should have an out of hours number x

I don't think a bit of blood in a cats stool is usually an emergency (unless the cat has other indicators of being very ill) so don't worry too much!
It can be caused by different things. The vet will be able to advise, when you're able to get him in for an appointment.

Yes I agree with a PP blood in stools isn't seen as really serious with a cat . Elton had the most disgusting episode of bloody diarrhoea and recovered quickly with no real intervention.
