Cat staggering and drooling, will she be OK?

DCat is not well and at the emergency vets. She didn't eat this morning, we were out all day and then noticed she was drooling, sort of foamy. She then staggered around and mewed a lot so we took her to the vet about 6pm. She's still there, anxious and no better (but no worse). They are taking bloods.

Any reassurance that she's just eaten something she shouldn't and will be fine? She's around 8, an outdoor cat, never given us a moment's concern. I'm worried for her, she hates being at the vet or a cattery (we don't do the latter as she hid in a litter tray for a week last time we tried). I don't want her to be scared and ill.

Keeping my fingers crossed the vets figure out what is wrong with her. She's in the best place Flowers

Oh bless her heart... Hopefully she will just sleep overnight and things might be better tomorrow ❣️

It’s so horrible being in this situation, the waiting is just awful. I hope she’s ok op

Thinking of you and dcat ❤️ it’s such a worry when they are ill. Cats are really good at hiding their illnesses. She is in the best place and I hope she recovers and is home with you soon.

How is she?

bigbadbernard · 25/03/2026 22:14

She seems ok, thank you. She hated the vet so we brought her home the next day, she was scared and cringed but not staggering. She's slept a lot, hidden a bit, finally eaten. She's still not right - jumpy and spasming as she dreams - but I think improving. Aprreciate the hand hold, thanks!
