Finlay has either gone missing or been on his longest walk about ever
He has not been home for 48 hours now - tracker is out of battery and I’m starting to get worried
It’s DS birthday so am trying not to stress and spoil the day - DS just keeps telling me not to worry and it’s due to the amazing weather and that Finn is just making the most of it after a wet cold winter

I'm a bit late to the thread as per usual but very glad he's back.

As a fellow tracker-cat mum, I am never quite sure if it's worse or better to know where they've got to! When mine gets to less than 30% I tend to put it into low power mode. <looks sternly at sleeping floof>

I couldn’t sleep most of last night - DS stayed up till 2 in case he appeared - I checked at 4 and 7.45 - kept dreaming he’d run in though his cat flap then woke up to reality
Went into sitting room just now before I set off for work and he was sat on back of sofa looking at me as if to say where’s my breakfast?
Been missing nearly 3 days! Tracker is back on just need to get an AirTag collar holder
Thank you for all your hand holding - much appreciated

I'm so glad he's home! It's the early spring madness I think. They love to be out when there's plenty of nesting prey.
There's a chance he was being fed by others though.

You have to remember that old song/cartoon that says 'but the cat came back, they thought he was a goner but the cat came back.' this guy couldn't get rid of him in this silly cartoon but I think of that when I'm worried mine are 'missing'.

Phew, I started this thread hoping to find him
safely back home at the end. Our boy is also tracked and thankfully has never not come back home, I just know I’d be an absolute wreck he didn’t stroll in and out each day. You did so well to hold it all together

LeftBoobGoneRogue · 21/03/2026 15:24

What is relief. He’s a gorgeous cat.

learieonthewildmoor · 21/03/2026 23:57

Thank goodness he’s back. Finlay is one of my favourites Mumsnet cats.

ilovesooty · 22/03/2026 00:01

I'm so glad he's back safe and sound.

JaceLancs · 23/03/2026 19:07

@learieonthewildmoor that's so sweet - thank you
