I just wanted to share some pictures of my gorgeous boy. Charlie had huge paws to fill following Harry but he's definitely growing into them. The last picture was taken when I dared to wake him up by watching the F1 at 4am on Sunday morning!

Beautiful! Black cats are so lovely!

Puppylucky · 10/03/2026 21:18

Hello @PinkSparklyPussyCat ! I saw Charlie on an earlier thread and was going to say welcome then. What a very handsome house panther he is 😍. Where is he from?

WonderfulSmith · 10/03/2026 21:18

Look at that face! And that fuzzy tummy.

Overtheatlantic · 10/03/2026 21:20

Thank you for posting these wonderful pictures of gorgeous Charlie, and making me smile. I love black cats. My sweet girl, Lady Madam, is always awake at 4am because that’s the time of her first breakfast. 😻🐈‍⬛

He's very handsome and he knows it, probably because I tell him regularly! He's not the sharpest tool in the shed though, my friend has his brother and we joke they share a single brain cell between them!

I'm sad to say he wasn't a rescue. We tried but had so many knock backs that he came from a breeder. Not something I was comfortable with but I could never regret getting him. DH has had a lot of health problems and Charlie has been a good distraction for him and makes us laugh every day.

I hope Marvin is doing well.

@WonderfulSmith he actually lets you stroke that gorgeous belly!

First breakfast! I used to get up and feed Harry at 3am every day. I have not done that with Charlie as I realised early on I'd made a rod for my own back!

Charlie is gorgeous- Give him a cuddle from me!
I have a big black and white bruiser of a cat, Herbie (who can sometimes be found on the Excellent cats threads!)

By the look of that last photo, he's no fan of F1!

Arlanymor · 10/03/2026 21:36

Black cats are gorgeous and so underrated! Hello Charlie!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 10/03/2026 21:37

How old is he?

You could be right. I bought him a McLaren scarf and was he grateful? No, not at all!

He's one next month. For a kitten he's been very well behaved - my curtains and furniture are still intact!

I think that's the positive of having a "shared braincell" cat - they are usually much more relaxed about intrusions such as belly rubs!

Breadcat24 · 12/03/2026 08:56

@PinkSparklyPussyCat Charlie is lovely, he will not replace Harry but will give you new joy I am sure. How on earth did you get him to wear the scarf

Arlanymor · 12/03/2026 15:22

@PinkSparklyPussyCat Just revisiting this thread to say again that Charlie is a beaut and also the F1 thing made me laugh because my lovely old cat Bob (RIP) was a bit connected at the hip to me. So much so that whenever I would watch the rugby on the telly welly he would come and support along with me. There was one time when my ex-husband was whinging because he wanted something but I was watching the rugby (it's only 80 minutes, not a lifetime!) and it was the one and only time I heard Bob hiss at someone! Cat language for: bugger off, we're watching the rugby, leave us be! I miss that little chap.

I draped the scarf around his neck and had the camera ready as it only lasted about 10 seconds!

I’m feeling so guilty, I dropped Charlie off at the cattery this morning as we’re away for a week. He’s got a VIP suite with a view of the garden and park so I’m sure he’s happy.

He’ll be fine. I’m sure you’ve chosen a luxury one!

RumNotRun · 13/03/2026 23:26

He is so handsome! Lucky you and lucky Charlie.

Puppylucky · 14/03/2026 08:10

He's got such a serious little face! Is he a Bombay - he's got the copper eyes?

LostCats2 · 14/03/2026 17:13

Oh @PinkSparklyPussyCat I didn't know Charlie had come into your lives! I am so happy for you. He is certainly very beautiful isn't he!

And yup, the shared braincell is awesome isn't it! Eko lets me have lots of lovely tummy rubs and I even get to kiss his tummy! He is, bless him, not the sharpest tool either. But he's lovely.

He's a British Shorthair. His full name is Cheerful Charlie, mainly because we had an idea he was going to look serious!

Charlie is back from the cattery and has completely charmed them! He's been all over us today so I think we're forgiven for abandoning him.
