Just that really. My new rescue cat, Minnie, loves running water so I thought a fountain might be fun. And it may get her out of my bathroom sink!

I recently bought a Catit Pixi fountain from Amazon because my cat is dynamite for wailing loudly at us to turn the tap on in the bath! He loves it. But remember to change the filters regularly and clean the whole thing daily.

I second Catit Pixi water fountain, my girls love it, it’s so easy to clean and the cattery uses the same one!

100% miaowstore ceramic one. No filters needed, last in theory forever.
However they stopped trading in uk but rumour is they're coming back. But if you're in Europe id go for this. I got mine off marketplace but the motor has gone (was second hand) and can't currently replace the pump.

Oooh rumours where? I've bought a whole spare one off ebay just in case mine dies or breaks, my cat loves it (so do I) and them going EU only was hard. I'd love to be able to just buy spare pumps and things again.

Think I saw it on reddit but no answer to my messages. Fingers crossed, they loved it but im not sure about buying other pumps off Ebay etc that may or may not work or be compatible.

Thank you everyone. 💕I've just looked at the catit one. It's adorable.

I bought one that looks like it had a daisy on top…word of warning though. My cat loves it to pieces but that means she sticks her paws down the middle and ends up tipping it over and flooding the floor……

I hated my pixie fountain! It got green mould in it. My previous one from Amazon never had that issue and was easier to clean. The bowl bent out of shape in the end so it didn’t work. I bought a really nice ceramic one for Penelope but it freaked her out so I gave up and she has a large dog bowl.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2026 22:30

@cshpthat’s the one I loved but it freaked Penelope out. It was really easy to clean and no messing around with filters. Looked nice as well.

Not to be weird but... do you still have a pump? I really want to get one to use mine again. 100% appreciate you may have sold it or want to sell it whole

Poor penelope 😆
She is gorgeous but what a sensitive flower.
One of mine is scared of her shadow so can relate but they were good with the fountain

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2026 22:43

@cshp I think I gave it to my parents. But not sure they use it. I’ll ask them. (You might need to remind me though!

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2026 22:44

She really is a delicate petal at times. I bought one of those flopping fish toys. That also freaked her out!

Hazynomore · 28/02/2026 22:48

I got this one FEELNEEDY. It's great as you can have it using motion detection, intermittent or one all the time (when plugged in)

I’ve been looking at that one but wondered if it keeps turning itself on when A person walks past it

Hazynomore · 01/03/2026 10:49

Hi @StarCourt, it probably will, the sensor picks up movement from about 2 feet away. What I usually do is leave it 'switched off' and then use the sensor setting to top the water up whenever I'm near and it's convenient. But then it's very quiet so I don't see a problem even if it does get set off all the time. Excess water just drains back into the main tank.

Squidgoals · 01/03/2026 11:18

I’ve tried several and hated them all. The filters go manky really quickly, the pumps grow green stuff in them, they have to be taken apart and cleaned regularly and I just don’t have the energy for it and the cats don’t use them anyway, they just want tap water. We’ve currently got one that has no filter, just one tank for fresh water and another for discarded water, it replaces the water in a little dish every six hours so at least I know the water they’re not drinking is fresh. It’s very low maintenance.
However, there’s one from the US that I’m deffo going to get. It attaches to a tap and shoots out a little fountain of water when a cat approaches. Once it’s installed there’s no maintenance. About £100 including installation bits and pieces, from Aquapurr.com

Gosh yes ive been wondering about those. I got mine the ball with the feather that moves on its own. Thought they'd love it, nope, terrifying
