I'm with ManyPets
Is the perfect pet a lifetime policy? You dont want to claim and then not be covered after that

We have ours insured with petplan. Found their customer service really good and making a claim was really straightforward when our cat broke her leg. Was worried that insurance might only cover basic solutions, but there was no issue with the claim for surgery to put a pin in, and for the weekly x rays on the leg to ensure it was healing OK.

Petplan expensive but making claims for illness there was no problem and they refunded me in a matter of days.

When I rang them in tears a few days before the direct debit was due because my cat had died in an accident it was cancelled immediately and the customer service advisor was lovely. However when another cat went missing and I had the covered for life policy the young man on the phone was totally disinterested and unhelpful. I should have complained about him but I was too distraught.

Also with Petplan covered for life I seem to remember it pays for specialist food eg for urinary problems for either 3 or 6 months following diagnosis. This was in 2012 so may be different now.

Petplan - covered for life. (This is worth it for medication costs as the cats get older, over 10) They’ve payed out thousands for us over the years for cats. Brain surgery and MRI’s (different cats!). Yes expensive but they pay up promptly and are easy to deal with. Our vet does the claim for us for a small fee and it’s always been very straightforward.

Many Pets were brilliant with Elton who was a very sick boy.
