Fostering

I have put my name down for fostering with a cat charity, has anyone done this before? I have ticked all the boxes - for example elderly cats, cats that might not have long left 😢, kittens and generally all kitties are welcome!

I grew up with cats but I don’t have any pets at the moment.

Has anyone got any experience of fostering cats and what would happen? I’ve put myself forward for both short term and long term fostering 🐈

Thanks!

Hello,

I've been fostering for over 4 years now - we have pregnant cats, kittens and hand rears.

We have our own crew so don't take adults (unless with babies).

With kittens it tends to be 2-3 months depending and each rescue works differently. Most provide all the supplies you need you'll just need to be within travelling distance to their vets/centre. You might have to deal with medicines etc.

Sometimes it's challenging as these cats don't often have good pasts but seeing the changes in them with love and care is fantastic.

Goodbye is the goal, and it's hard but gets easier the more you do.

We love it.

Happy to answer any questions you have.

I only have 1 cat left out if 3 now
I have been thinking that if/ when her time comes i could maybe try fostering short term maybe.
