Pebbles is mental

My gorgeous little kitten is about six months old, had his knackers cut off last month and recovered well. But he's started doing this weird thing, in 35 years of having cats I've never seen it before.

He grabs the end of his tail in his mouth and goes into a trance, purring really loudly and kneading with paws 🙀 Nothing can break him out of this, it goes on for about ten minutes 😵 If I gently try to remove his tail from his mouth he just goes round in circles and grabs it again 😂

He's otherwise fine and exceptionally loving, it's just so strange!

The little chunk out of his ear is from when he got neutered. Where I live there's a 'Trap, neuter and release' scheme for feral and abandoned kitties. They clip their ears to show they've been 'done'.

But yes, I'm so happy I found him ❤️

@YelramBob aaah, The cats in the Greek Islands have this too, but I had no idea didn’t it was a done here as well, poor little baby must have been on the streets a while 😢 makes me wonder why he wasn’t handed over to a charity rather than released after his op. Anyway - he’s got the best cat life now ❤️

I live very close to a Greek island 😊

Because he was abandoned, Pebbles was eligible for neutering under the government-funded scheme. I got him in October when he was tiny and he had his op last month, he was safely returned to me and I made a donation to the vet's practice.

The street cats - it's a nightmare 😥 There are volunteers who work tirelessly to round them up and get them in for neutering but it's a constant battle with the older generation here who keep cats for vermin control 😡
