Unwell cat

Our cat is currently at the vets. She went last night and she had a temp and what the vet thought was abdominal pains. They have her some pain killers and she came home but they wanted her back in today and she’s been there since 9. No update.

She seemed a bit better this morning. She ate properly which she didn’t do yesterday but her behaviour is very odd. She was just sat on the stairs and not moving. Or she’d come into the kitchen where she would normally beg for food but she just sat down quietly.

I know nobody will know what it is until the vet decides but has anyone else’s cat had the odd behaviour?

I'm sorry to hear about your cat, I hope you hear from the vet soon.
I have found that when my cats are ill they behave the same sort of way whether it is a fleeting illness like a stomach bug, or a serious problem. They just know they don't feel well.

One of mine was very unwell for four days, not eating, sleeping constantly, he was booked to go into the vet to be put on a drip and he suddenly perked up, started eating and behaving completely normally.

Fingers crossed you get good news.

My cat had abdominal pain and it was pancreatitis. She was very sick, she’d barely shown any sign of being unwell in the lead up to it. She had morphine, and ketamine and antibiotics for a while. It was a miracle that she survived, she recovered very quickly though.

Fortunately she seems okay. Some signs of a slight infection but nothing major. She’s definitely perked up and behaviour isn’t as odd now.
