I am a concerned as i lost two cats within 8/ 9 months of each other.
( Posted on here about them ) and just wandrerd if anyone has knowledge / experience about liver issues.
I have 1 cat left now whom I took off the streets. I estimated her age she looked under 1 at that time so approx 7 or 8 now.
She's had no illness apart from straining her leg which healed with meds within a week last year.
I have a health plan with the vets now for her which includes annual blood test amongst other things.
Few weeks ago she had a check up and I mentioned she occasionly would shake her head or left ear recently but not for long or excessive.
On checking said the left was fine but right ear had a very small like spot (cant recall name but like a polyap / cyst like spot maybe) but not a problem, unless it grew and burst so will monitor at check ups.
Also has some plaque / gum signs that will eventually need a clean etc.
Last Saturday went for the blood test and booster jab. ( The night before she used her litter tray and I noticed some blood in her poo) which i showed a photo of it, they took her temp which ok said they could not feel anything up her bum like hard poo etc but said her stomach felt a bit gassy but otherwise seems fine.
Since then no more blood in poo and poos regulary.
Call today with blood results which all are ok except for liver marker which is quiet high.
Vet said it could be shes had a virus or some cats get high markers due to a dental / gum issue amongst other issues.
So suggested that we take another blood sample in 2wks time which i am fine with.
She has not been unwell in herself at all eating/ drinking all ok so I dont think shes had a virus but i know cats mask things and im not a vet.
But now I am worried that the one off blood in her poo last week maybe connected to liver problems or something just as bad or worse.
From what i can see she has no signs of jaundice in her eyes / ears.
The vet didn't say she was either on the check up.
Of course i will ask the vet more but any advice if it could be connected to the above mentioned or experiance from MN Cat lovers would be appreciated.
Shes my little lap cat but can be a tigar at times especially if she's tired and gets disturbed.
