Scrumbles kibble recipe change?

Has anyone else noticed a change in the Scrumbles chicken kibble? Namely the smell - it absolutely reeks. This is the first bag we’ve noticed and not sure if it’s a dodgy batch or a permanent change.

Our cat still gobbles it down but since starting this new pack she has suddenly started to drink much more water than she would usually -often after eating it - so we’re wondering if it might be connected. She eats a mixture of wet and dry food - no change there. We’re temporarily switching brands to see if it makes a difference. She seems absolutely fine in her usual energetic, rodent-slaughtering self, or we’d take her to the vet (and will if there isn’t a change with the new kibble).

My plump little tuxedo also has Scrumbles, he’s usually pretty enthusiastic about food (as your mog sounds!) but he’s definitely less keen on the current bag. I hope they haven’t changed the recipe. Can’t say I’ve noticed a new aroma, might go give it a sniff….

I hope so too. It’s the increased drinking I’m worried about rather than the smell, and it may be completely unconnected, but she’s started going to her water bowl right after eating it. No issues with appetite, ever 😹

My cat has chicken Scrumbles, I’ve not noticed any change though. Some bags are a bit smellier on occasion, I’ve thrown one out before as it didn’t smell right.

Thanks both. In that case we’ll bin the rest of this bag and try with another one. In the meantime, she’s been wolfing down the substitute (Symply) and hasn’t gone near her water bowl since we switched. Love Scrumbles so hope this is a one-off.
