Strange cat vomit?

This was on my back door step when I let the cat in. He had only been out for about 10mins. I think its something he has vomited up!! He is absolutely fine in himself, the only thing I've noticed since finding this is his meow has gone a bit croaky.
He is up to date with worming.
He does eat mice and is a relentless hunter, maybe a mouse that hes tried to eat then threw up? It just looks really strange, anyone seen anything like this before? Sorry for the gross photo!!

It’s a little bird he’s thrown it back up Op you can see the birds head and guts.
likely he’s given himself a sore throat wolfing it down and then bringing it back up.
If he still sounds croaky take him to Vets to get checked over.

Without scale it's hard to be sure, but I think it's part of a rat. The long curved white structure around the top looks like the tail, which looks too skinny and bald to be a mouse's tail, whilst the grey folded worm-like object in the bottom-left is the small intestine. The two things that look like beans in the bottom-right are kidneys. I can't see any feathers and the black stuff is likely to be fur.

Rats are big, so he'd easily give himself a sore throat chowing down on it and bringing it back up, and it would be too big for his tummy once it was down there, hence it making a reappearance. It could also be a mouse, but the tail doesn't look mousey to me.

Make sure you keep his worming up to date and keep an eye on his general health. If a cat eats a poisoned rat, it can kill them unless they get a blood transfusion very quickly.

Please put a coin or a ruler in the photograph in future. It gives an idea of scale. Coins can be disinfected, if you are worried about your child's ruler getting covered in entrails.

Is that a little brown face with an eye I can see on the left half way up? 😧 poor little thing 😧
I’d have said rat but if that’s a face it looks small so god knows. I think the kidneys are big for a bird and I’m sure the tail would be wider on a rat.

Just to add - yes I’ve seen stuff like this before. And stood in it in bare feet through the night going to the toilet in the dark. Sometimes a pile of mush like this or just sticky intestines.

@selffellatingouroborosofhate "if you are worried about your child's ruler getting covered in entrails" is a sentence I don't think I've ever read before!

@Unforgettablefire "And stood in it in bare feet through the night going to the toilet in the dark. Sometimes a pile of mush like this or just sticky intestines." At least I had socks on when I stomped my foot into my walking boots and found my 'present' ...! 30 years and many cats ago and I still remember that sound so clearly!

@LaineysLand Hope your cat is better tomorrow but yes, as @selffellatingouroborosofhate says, please make sure your cat's worming regime is up to date.

Edited

After CatOfHate left an intact and uneaten mouse half way up the stairs for me, which I luckily stood on in shoes, I've been meticulous about always wearing some kind of entrail-proof footwear indoors, even if it's just cheap knockoff crocs. The crunch as the skull cracked was quite sickening.
