Trackers for cats?

So once again we are down a cat. Our beautiful wee man has been missing for a week.

no one has found a dead cat locally, no one has spotted him - lots of sightings of similar cats but not him.

i have a feeling he’s been nabbed by someone ‘thinking’ he’s a stray - but not posting to find his owner or getting him scanned.

I have never collared my cats due to injury risk but I can’t go through this again - can anyone recommend a tag/collar for the remaining ones?

here’s wee man - we miss him

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My gorgeous girl is quite elderly and i do know at some point we will have a kitten again. I have often thought about pet trackers, but after a bad experience with a collar, I’m just not sure.

But when the time comes I will be interested to research if trackers are now implanted, like microchips?

You can attach an AirTag to a quick release collar.

Yes an implanted tracker would be perfect! Until then it’s going to be collar v missing cats - it’s difficult

@Nofksleft2give do you have a collar you’d recommend- I’ve had a couple of cats who couldn’t release their releasable collar

It did - I’ve ordered - thank you

After my boy went missing for 5 days I got him and his sister tractive trackers. Brings me peace of mind (and when he got himself locked in a shed a year later I could knock on the neighbours and retrieve him 🤣
