Cat tracker recommendations please

We’ve just been adopted by a gorgeous, very friendly young calico cat. She turned up at the stables a few weeks ago, then started asking to come inside and wasn’t showing any signs of having a home to go to. We got her scanned (no chip), posted on all the local facebook groups and asked the neighbours but nobody’s claimed her. We took her to the vet to be chipped and spayed (sadly she was in the early stages of pregnancy) and she’s now officially ours. Our other two cats are 100% house cats as they’re utterly traumatised by being Outside but she’s much more confident - one of nature’s optimists and once she’s recovered from the spay I think she’d be happier being able to go out and about. Does anyone use a tracker specifically for cats? And any recommendations for one that’s not too ludicrously large?

Hello, we also have a calico! She always goes a bit mad in spring and seems to get some crazy ideas about exploring the furthest corners of the village, so after a couple of worrying occasions where she strayed a bit far and got lost, I put a tracker on her.
she just has an apple air tag. You can buy rubbery covers for them on Amazon that just slip onto the collar.

she’s full grown but very small so some of the tracker gizmos are too bulky for her but this doesn’t seem to bother her at all.

I can see her location on my phone at any time, and make the tracker beep (handy when she’s got scared and hidden in a bush)

I’ve got a Tractive one for my cat. He’s huge but I don’t the size of it would be an issue for smaller cats. He currently goes out on request and patiently waits for the collar to be put on. If I need to find him while he’s out it’s very easy as it’s very accurate (to nearest metre or so) and I can look at his historical activity so now have a really good understanding of his main territory and the max distance he will go. It’s subscription based and I just got the cheapest one which is absolutely fine

Thank you - I do worry about the size plus the risk of the collar getting caught on something - food for thought

Personally, I don't track ours. Collars are too risky for me.

We've just bought a pet tracer one for when Marvin is allowed out. Its quite bulky but doesn't seem to bother him. I am worried about the safety aspect but just hope he'll be ok.

We use tractive mini for our two. our girl cat is small and has no problem with it. Although they are slightly bulky they are very light.
we use them with a Rogz snap off collar.
