Cat limping and vet doesn’t know why

My cat has been limping for 7 days. On the first day I took her to the vet and they examined her and said there doesn’t seem to be any breaks or fractures and gave me anti inflammatory meds. 3 days later I took her back for an xray because there was no improvement at all. They took the x-rays which showed nothing wrong so she’s been on gabapentin,3 times a day and meloxaid once a day. I have also confined her to one room so that she can rest it as much as possible. There hasn’t been one single bit of improvement. Her limp is exactly the same now as it was on day 1. The vet seems at a loss and just told us to keep going with rest but wouldn’t there be some sort of improvement by now if it was soft tissue injury? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience?

Have you been able to do a full check of the leg for any bites or other wounds?
is the cat eating & drinking, weeing & pooing?

Yes the leg and shoulder has been thoroughly checked by the vets three times now. She is being completely normal, eating and drinking etc but last year she tore her cruciate ligament in a different leg and she was still eating, drinking and playing then as well. So I can’t rule out something serious just based on this, which is what’s making is so confusing and difficult. The limp is very significant as well

my cat had a limp end of November I popped out on a Sunday came home and he was limping. He’s majority an indoor cat and had not been outside. I thought I’ll take him to vets in morning. He then charged though the house (excited he’d been bird watching) and collapsed on the floor so I had to take him to the emergency vets as he couldn’t stand and his front paw was floppy (back leg was the one he was limping on) had pain relief etc and he growled when she touched his back end. 3 additional vets visits later and he slowly improved was on metacam for 2 weeks basically. At one point he wouldn’t leave my bedroom or his bed so everything had to be upstairs. They think he jumped awkwardly and twinged his back. When he collapsed it was so scary as he just went floppy. He’s fine now but the next steps were X-rays. The first vet was also check for blood flow to his legs incase he had a clot. Hopefully you start to see improvements it took mine about 2 weeks to start seeing improvements
