Has anyone tried corn cat litter?

How did it go? Did cats adapt easily? Currently use Tigerino clay litter which is quite dusty.

Like Cat’s Best? I really like it, not messy, clumps well.

I usually use worlds best cat flushable wood cat litter, but have got a bag of corn litter ready to try next as it was cheap in b&m. I will put some down today and let you know!

Usually he's just happy with a box to poo in tbh.

I don't know how anyone still uses clay litter tbh. I always think it makes everything smells stronger, and is a pain to dispose of.
Corn or wood litter is generally safe to flush in small amounts, so can just put the cat poo straight down the toilet. Makes a big difference for smells

Or can compost it I think

We use Greenwoods which is (non-specific) plant fibre. It smells really nice and clumps well. Virtually no dust either (our cats came used to clay litter and I hated the dust coating on everything in the vicinity).

And cats adapted very easily, no issues at all.

We tried World's Best clumping corn litter a few years ago. It tracked EVERYWHERE. Also despite being clumping we found the odour control wasn't great and we still had to do a lot of full tray changes, which made it prohibitively expensive.

I had a free sample pack. Mixed it with my usual litter. Her ladyship reused to use it and pooed next to The tray!

We use Amazon own brand corn litter and it’s fab - no issues and no odours.

You shouldn’t put cat or dog faeces down the toilet. Toxocara is not killed in the sewage treatment process and could end up in drinking water.

You shouldn’t flush any animal waste down the toilet - our sewage systems aren’t designed for it.

We use Cats Best for our two , and sometimes it is nigh on impossible to order . So I have to take a trip to P@H to buy a bag .
The corn one only works out cheaper in the larger bag but it will be worth it if they accept it and we cannot get the CB.
I'm going to do a part mix into their trays to try it out . To say our cats do not like changes ....understatement

I use World’s Best for Charlie. It clumps well and is suitable for kittens which is why we chose it in the first place. I tried to change to Tigerino corn litter but the little sod hooked it out of the tray and tried to eat it so back to Worlds Best!

Apparently it is a thing! He seems to be fine with World's Best, which is typical as it costs a fortune. He does have standards though, he hooked it out of the litter tray before consuming it, no eating from the toilet for my boy! 🙄

I tried a few different types before settling on Katkin scoop planet. It's the only one that didn't smell disgusting after a couple of days and get all over the house. Scoop health was good for smell too but boycat loved digging in it too much and it got everywhere.

We’ve started using it for our cat and, after some initial mixing with the old stuff, it seems to be so much better. It clumps really well and there’s no smell now which we had with the other stuff we were using. We’ve been buying the Amazon one.

I use Katkin Scoop as well, which is millet & pea fibre. I did a trial last year of several diffierent types to see what was best value. Tried Catsan non clumping clay, Catsan Natural clumping (plant fibres), Purizon (Plant Fibres) and Intersand. Before I got my cat he was using a paper based litter and his old owners gave me a sack, so I used that for a while too. I've not used a pure corn one but I think the plant fibre ones had corn in them.

Basically none of them were anywhere as good as the Katkin for keeping smell down and it lasts the longest befoe needing to be changed.

The Intersand was the worst for both tracking and smell (awful) and turned cats white mittens grey. Purizon didn't really clump, just went soggy and smelled of urine after a short while.

The Katkin clumps well and if you scoop regularly and top up the litter, the smells are not too bad.

Breeder recommended it, it clumps nicely and isn't smelly.

Another vote for Katkin scoop planet here. It lasts a long time. We leave it a month before replacing the whole tray.
It isn’t dusty and barely tracks. It clumps very well and is one of the best I’ve used for odour neutralisation.
It smells a bit like vanilla cake, which is pleasant!

Scoop Planet is brilliant. I only do an entire litter change once a month as there is never any smell from the tray. It clumps really well and my cat adapted to it with no problem.

I've never not been able to get cats best from zooplus. I've been getting mine from there for 13 years as my cats refuse to use anything else. It's a fraction of the price that pets at home charge. They also do the massive bulk bags which are cheeper.
