Cat peeing in house

Old boy aged 18 has always been very clean. He's never used a litter tray, uses cat flap to go outside to do his business

Last night he was behaving very oddly -running around darting under tables, behind the TV etc. Then he finally went under the bed and peed.

He had access to his cat flap so no idea why he did this. He seems perfectly normal today.

Any suggestions?

I think if it happens again I'd pop him to the vets to make sure he's not got an upset somewhere.

It’s probably the beginning of feline dementia - they get confused and distressed and don’t understand where they are or what they’re supposed to do.

There is medication that can help so he ought to see a vet.

This was the beginning of the decline for my 16 year old cat. Vet couldn’t find anything wrong at the time it started but 6 months later she passed away with liver failure.

sorry that sounds very negative but thought it would be useful to know.
