Cat Tooth extractions

My lil man needs a couple of teeth out, we got him from a rescue and he had gingivitis and it was always mentioned this day would probably come.

I know they need only wet food after, he normally eats Blink! , would this be fine or is it not soft enough. I’ve got some soups in too. And lick-e-licks of course!

any advice?

Our last cat had quite a few out and ate her normal wet food. We had Metacam (sp?) and a mouthwash spray (like Corsodyl) to give her for a fortnight, then back for a checkup and she was given the all clear to have wet and dry after that. She had obviously been in discomfort prior to having the extractions but we didn’t realise until she suddenly went off her food and we took her to the vet - she was a much happier girl afterward even though the mouthwash was quite the ordeal. (Get your DH/kids/neighbour to do that or your cat will hate you.)

Penelope had all her teeth out recently, the first thing she ate (after 4 days) was biscuits! All of my cats were the same after having teeth out. Head straight in the biscuits.

my bank account was well and truly bothered though….

Wtffffff I’ve been quoted £460 , I don’t know they pull their numbers. I can see it rising somehow

That’s a bit steep. I paid £900 when Penelope had 6 out. Having the rest out cost £1400. But she did get an infection. Immglasd they decided to take them all out as I can’t afford that every two years! And she’s so much happier without them.

Mine has really gone off wet food since his teeth came out x3 (£570ish) mostly has been keen on dry which is a complete swap for him

Mine just carried on with what she was eating before, which was special diet wet food. It didn’t seem to worry her at all, having a couple of teeth out.
