Help with medicine dosage

Dcat was neutered today and has been prescribed Loxicom 0.5mg/ml but I don't understand the dosage.

It's a 5ml bottle and the label states
"Give 2.5kg dose once a day into food from 23/12 /25 for 3-4 days"

Can anyone clarify the actual syringe dosage amount?

The syringe dose is in kg, so you'd draw the syringe back to 2.5 on it. Our cat was on it for months due to hip problems but at 12.5kg a bottle didn't last him long 😂

Aee you sure it says 2.5kg, I'm confused, is there a dose/weight chart in the packaging, can you post a pic of the label

Yes he's huge, the insurance company couldn't understand why we were putting in claims so frequently for loxicom, but a bottle just didn't last very long at all 😂

Are you using the syringe that came with the Loxicam? It should be marked in kg, and you just draw up the amount of med to the weight of your cat. No calculation needed. A standard syringe is marked in ml - if you’re using one of those you would have to calculate the amount you need.
