Cat has weed up the Christmas tree

I have been wrapping presents this morning and have realised that my cat has weed up the Christmas tree! She’s 6 and has never done this before. She has a tray as well as a cat flap and usually goes outdoors to relieve herself, though this is fairly recent.

How do I clean and get rid of the smell?

Do you have your tree in soil? We used citrus peel to dissuade our cat going in there when I was little.

If you have it, wipe down with alcohol (I used to use vodka) because it is supposed to break down the urine immediately and it kills any bacteria. I guess then wipe down with your usual household cleaner if it isn't too strong smelling?

@Mothership4twono, it’s an artificial tree. So very annoyed. We don’t drink either 😂 thank you for the suggestion though.

You can get spray specifically designed to break down the enzymes and smell in pet urine - we used to use Simple Solution.
