Second time it's happened, last time was about 4yrs ago. He seemed a bit off yesterday morning but then was fine for the rest of the day, however about 6 this morning was unable to wee. Now at vets being catheratised and likely to be in for at least a couple of days-thankfully we have petplan

I hope all goes well, which it will. My male cat is susceptible to this and the last time he had it he ended up in the vets hospital overnight. I was also glad I had PetPlan. That was a few years ago now. Your cat is in the best place and being treated, and will be home soon. X

Wishing him a speedy recovery, what a handsome boy

ohreallyIsee · 10/12/2025 10:52

He's doing well apparently, his urine was full of crystals so it looks like he is going to have to have renal food. Hopefully home tomorrow

Glad to hear that. Hope he enjoys the renal food…

Just looked at the price of urinary food and ouch, he's a big cat(nearly 6kg) with an appetite to match

How’s he doing?

ohreallyIsee · 14/12/2025 10:58

He's home and doing OK. Had a few instances of him weeing in odd places but he's now back to his usual trip hazard self. We've got to switch him to a urinary diet over the next few weeks

My cat had that twice in a sort period of time because of her bad temper. The special diet cured it

andweallsingalong · 14/12/2025 11:01

One of my rescues had this. Linked to anxiety and would regularly get bunged up until switched to the special food, then he was fine.

Also had Petplan which was a lifesaver.

I'm not sure as it was a while ago, but IIRC Petplan contributed to his food.

mine won’t eat the special food :-(
