Candles

I'm looking for advice please from wise cat staff. Kittens will be magicked into our home next weekend. I understand that we need to be careful with candles (for obvious safety reasons but also fragrance/ essential oil issues) but would like to know a little more before I abandon my Christmas candle shopping plans completely.
many thanks in advance

I might get a roasting for this, but I always burn a candle at nights - currently the WC Winter one. It’s up on the mantelpiece and never left unattended but the cat (and previous cat) has never gone up there or shown any interest in doing so. We have candlesticks in the hearth which are never lit and he’s not remotely interested in those either.

We have scented candles or wax melts burning all the time when we’re at home - never been an issue with any of our cats.

I’d like to help but obviously I can’t before cat tax is paid x

I can't believe I still have to wait a week for them

We also always have a candle burning and DCats to date don’t seem to have been affected and seem to realise when to move away from them.

I wouldn't trust ours. I do have LED flameless ones which our female cat likes watching. Our boy sits by the cooker when the oven light is on ( but he is a tad weird)
