Nexguard combo - prescription?

We adopted a kitten two weeks ago. She's due to be spayed mid December, and her worm and flea treatment as the title runs out three weeks before that. Am I right in thinking I need a prescription for this worm and flea treatment? It states to treat monthly up to six months then three monthly. I thought I could buy from one of the online vet pharmacy but it appears I need a script, didn't realise this was a thing for worm and flea.

Yes, nexguard combo is prescription only. I get it from my vet on a monthly basis.
What age is the kitten?
Has the kitten been vet checked? They will advise on the best flea/worm treatments. When mine were very young it was an oral liquid wormer we used.

You can buy nexguard combo online but you'd need to buy the prescription from a vet first
Other flea/wormer treatments can be bought without a prescription but aren't always effective
