She's always been like this but it is getting worse.
We're not talking about stealing some chicken left on the side (because that's just what cats do). We're also not talking about being a nuisance before her meal times because again that is normal.
She is constantly under feet if we go in the kitchen, she tries to lick tables in the case there is food left (shes nit allowed on tables or counters so it's quite funny seeing her trying to reach accross while on a chair), she hovers and is constantly trying to sniff out food. If we drop something she comes running in case it's food. We don't have any young children so are not in habit of having food dropped on the floor. She has never got tidbits and we always make sure we feed her at seperate times to us. We dont encourage this behaviour.
She has 3 meals a day at set times. We cant just leave food out because she'll eat it all as soon as it goes out and then demand food at her normal times. She will literally eat until she's sick, then go back and eat some more.
Vet says shes fine and its just how some cats are but its really difficult when she is just constantly scrounging. We do have some puzzle toys for her but she's 13 and is starting to feel it and isnt really interested in things like that anymore.
Again, the cat says she is fine.
She is quite easily trainable (one advantage of being so food orientated) so I wondered if their was something we could do but Im not sure what.
Dont worry, we might moan at her but we dont shout or punish her.
