Cat peeing inside

After some advice please! Have had my cat for almost 11 years, recused at 4 months old. Over the years she has done the occasional pee inside but mostly has used the litter tray or garden. The last few weeks she has started doing it most days. I got a feliway plug in to see if that helped but it’s not making any difference. We have another cat, but we rescued them together so there is no conflicts and there has been no changes to the house. I have booked a vet appointment to rule out an illness but wondering if anyone had this and managed to overcome? The house is starting to smell and she pees in the same spot.

Sound like a UTI.

My (indoor, bonded).cats did this when the neighbour's new cat arrived. Mine do go out when they want but never far.

I think they were marking their territory. Also they demand that the litter tray is pristine at all times, could it be that? Some don't like sharing a tray.

I did wonder if it could be a UTI but it isn’t consistent and she will go out still at times? Would it be every wee if it was UTI?
We live on a quiet street, she doesn’t venture further than the garden and no new cats on the street. It does feel more like marking, and Google backs this up, as it is by both the front and back doors but I don’t understand why!

If it’s the same spot, can you get an additional litter tray for that spot, and I agree to a vet visit, as it could be a UTI.
I also agree it could be marking, especially as it’s by both doors, is your cat fearful of another cat coming in, and marking scent. Do you keep your cat in at night? Do you think a stray or neighbourhood cat could be coming close to the garden or doors during the night, as we have similar issues. We have to shut all blinds and curtains but our cat can still be unsettled some mornings as if another cat has been close in the night.
