So cat I inherited 2yrs ago (cat fem, spayed) used to litter tray. Now started pooping on hardwood floor in bedroom... Not changed litter, no house changes. She's otherwise eating, peeing in tray and fine. I clean the tray daily

She's monthly flea treatment & wormer too. Her poop is fine! I don't tell her off to cause extra stress And it's weird when she uses litter box to pee 🥺

How old is your cat? Mine did this when old and not well? Is your cat jumping up with no problems? Maybe worth watching to look for any discomfort and/or a trip to the vet for a tummy feel? Good luck 🤞

So, she's young! 4yrs old or slightly over. Zero changes in house to upset her. Poop looks actually fine. Mix of dry/wet food. And she's not overweight but still a good eater. She drinks water regularly

No swollen tummy, no signs of blockage or distress. Perfectly normal aside from the outside tray pooping? And she's actively wanting to do it on the bedroom floor (kitchen floor is vinyl). She has garden access during daylight hours. She sleeps in my bed on a night.

She seems super happy apart from this. And it doesn't feel like a vet issue 😬

Have you tried introducing a second litter tray? Some odd DCats prefer to poop on a different litter tray.

Any change in toileting that isn’t just a one-off really does require a vet visit. It’s not an emergency but inappropriate toileting can often be a sign of pain or stress, or underlying medical conditions.

Does she go outside? Are there any new cats in the area who may have spooked her or encroached on her territory?

If she’s an indoor cat, she may well be trying to tell you she wants to be out. Unfortunately inappropriate toileting is very often a sign that the cat is stressed and unhappy in their environment.
