My DM lives in another country and is having chemotherapy.

(I cannot travel to her as in recovering from a brain injury atm but will travel as soon as my neurologist says I can.)

She's been told not to touch her cat's kitty tray (specifically the poop) but she lives alone and won't have carers or home help.

So she has gloves and a mask, but I was wondering if a liner in the tray would work?

Would she need to use a fresh liner every day? I have never had cats so I don't know!

Do you have any tips I can give her to minimise her exposure to the cats poop?

The cat is an indoor cat so only uses the litter tray for the toilet.

This is an expensive solution and obviously not an environmentally sound one, but you can get disposable litter trays - she could just chuck it at the end of each day. I looked into them when we were going away in case MIL who was looking after the cat wasn’t keen on scooping etc.

Thank so much, I'll present the different options to her. The long handled scoop looks great.
The cat is quite old so I'm not sure if it will go along with the self cleaning option but it might help someone else if in a similar position.
