Leaving new kittens

I've just adopted two ten week old kittens - yesterday! It was all very quick as they were rescues.

I don't work so they won't be left alone a lot. But I do need to go out tomorrow for 3 hours (pre existing medical appointment). They'll be left in a secure safe room with food, their litter trays, water, beds etc. it's where they are settling into house anyway.

Does it sound okay to leave them?

It's for a significant reason so if you can't get a kitty sitter Wink, and they are safe, I'd go.

Yes it will be absolutely fine - but be prepared for them to have trashed the room by the time you get back. 🤣.

Could I request your 'kitten tax' please?

DisplayPurposesOnly · 21/09/2025 08:25

Cat tax....!

Yes, they'll be purrrrfectly fine.

stormsandsunshine · 21/09/2025 17:27

3 hours - yes they will be fine. It is probably good for them to have a few quiet hours to explore their room and get comfortable with it.

Surely we need a cute pic of said kittens in order to give you a proper answer?

(They‘ll be fine, honestly, just make sure there‘s nowhere they can hide or crawl into where they then can‘t get out again, because kittens).

No pics.. No advice. Thems the rules...

Play with them before you go to wear them out and hopefully they will nap for most of it.

warmapplepies · 22/09/2025 11:08

Of course it’s fine. Ours have been left while we work from day one.

FuzzyWolf · 22/09/2025 11:10

They will be fine. They have each other as well as food, water and a litter tray. It’s not for long and they will likely sleep or play with each other.
