Hi I put some flea medication on my cat but she was squirming a lot so most of it went on her fur. Tonight I noticed a flea on her so don’t think I done it properly but according to google I can’t add anymore so what’s best to do now? Thanks

Thanks great. I think Advantage resistance is area-specific. In London it no longer works at all

I'm in London, albeit outer London. It seems to work on mine.

Maybe it's just an East London thing. It stopped working for our clinic and for all our clients around 3 years ago

How odd! Our vet prescribed it initially early summer, and I just bought it online after that. Maybe it will stop working soon, but while it does, I'll stick with it. South London fleas aren't as hard-core as East London, it seems!

That's what I always say to our clients - East London fleas are hard as ... !

It's like the Krays over the Richardsons...

South London here too, maybe that’s why 🤣

Aargh! Just wondering why i have three red itchy bumbps in a line on my calf-are they flea bites as well? I can't apply nexgard to my cat or brush or comb her as she won't allow it! Do vets prescribe tablets like credelio and how effective is it, please? Also, if the vet confirms fleas, do I have to spray the undersides of couches and divan bed bases, or just the floor? And which comes first, cat or house or treat simultaneously? 😱

thecatneuterer · 08/10/2025 19:00

Yes vets prescribe it and it's good. I find that, unless it's a really bad outbreak, treating the cat is enough. Fleas in the environment will continue to bite the cat and so continue to die. If you want to have a spray around it won't hurt, just make sure the cat is out of the way when you do it.
