Alternative to candles/diffusers around kittens

Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone does when trying to create a nice atmosphere now that we’re coming into autumn - we have always loved seasonal candles burning and had diffusers dotted around. Now we have our kitten, we’ve cleared out and I’m wary of reintroducing these. Just wondering if anyone has a cat safe way of scenting their home/creating an atmosphere in the same way that candles do? Or a safe way of using candles? Thanks!

Diffusers? I don't have a cat but I think you have to be avoid fragrance with them, certainly esential oils.

Those plug in air fresheners, or ones like touch and fresh?

I use reed infusers, but they are placed somewhere very much out of the reach of cats. Candles I don't use any more but it would be the same I think, and extra care taken that the cat/kitten is never alone with a lit candle.
